In Conversation: Jean-Andre Antoine
A conversation on Street Photography with Jean-Andre Antoine and Idris Talib Solomon
About the Event
Join us for an engaging discussion on street photography, featuring Jean-Andre Antoine, the acclaimed street portrait photographer behind the current Fotografiska New York exhibition "From Prince St. With Love". He will be in conversation with photographer, podcaster and Fullbright Fellow Idris Talib Solomon.
This discussion will explore the art of street photography from multiple angles, including the contrasts between candid and posed street portraits, essential techniques, and a comparison of different photographers' approaches and styles. We’ll also dive into the importance of intentionality in photography, effective ways to approach subjects on the street, and the balance between subjectivity and objectivity in capturing compelling images.
The discussion will conclude with an insightful look into Jean’s street photography magazine, "My Eye Got Lazy," co-founded with Francisco Vasquez. This is an opportunity to deepen your understanding of street portrait photography and engage with the ideas and practices that shape this dynamic art form.
