Hilma af Klint: Catalogue Raisonné

Book Talk & Reception

Hero Image for Hilma af Klint: Catalogue Raisonné

About the Event

Not all artists’ work can, will, or deserve to be collected in a catalogue raisonné. But Hilma af Klint’s (1862–1944) work demands it: her oeuvre holds a message and reveals a philosophy. For the first time ever, readers will be able to review the complete works of Hilma af Klint in this historical document divided into seven volumes. It is undeniably one of Sweden’s most fascinating collections of artistic output.

Fotografiska is pleased to welcome Daniel Birnbaum, director of Acute Art and co-editor of the catalogue raissoné, and Tracey Bashkoff, Senior Director of Collections and Senior Curator at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. The art historians will share their research into the life of this prolific artist and discuss highlights from the catalogue raisonné. Individual titles and the complete series will be available for purchase at the event.
