Join us for our final Academy event exploring the work of David LaChapelle. Longtime luxury-industry leader Pauline Brown will be in discussion with art journalist Jacoba Urist on the function of kitsch, art and commerce, popular culture and aesthetics in LaChapelle’s photographs and challenge cultural judgement.
Pauline is the founder of Aesthetic Intelligence Labs and former Chairman of North America of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton. She is a faculty person at the Columbia University Business School and on the Board of the Neiman Marcus Group.
Jacoba is a Manhattan based journalist who writes for ARTnews, Smithsonian Magazine, The Art Newspaper, and The New York Times, among other publications. She is also the New York Arts Editor for Cultured Magazine.
