An Evening with Shantell Martin
An immersive experience of music and more
About the Event
Join us for an in-person musical performance with Shantell’s keyboard and fireside conversation with founder and editor in chief of Gallery Gurls, Jasmin Hernandez. Following the talk, Martin will be signing copies of her first published monograph bookLines (https://www.henipublishing.com/books/shantell-martin-lines)with HENI, which are now available for purchase at the Fotografiska bookstore.
Shantell Martin is a philosopher and visual artist who began creating music privately over a decade ago. Her music follows the same spontaneous and intuitive flow that she has mastered with her bold lines. Her practice in sound embodies a conversation that is at the intersection of music and movement, wordplay and storytelling, social commentary, and the willful ignorance of traditional modalities of the medium. It lives in the moment of discovery and surrender, of curiosity, and leads the audience to a landscape of sonic liberty.
